Just came back from camp, so long didn't blog. Don't know how to blog, got so much to say but don't know how to write. Here's a summary of the 3 days 2 night camp at St' John Island.
1st Day ~ 6/6/04:
We've finally arrived at St' John's Island after an hour's ferry ride. We were split into our groups at the jetty. My group was group4 with only 1 girl... Ok, no surprise, out of the 34 freshmen only 6 were girls. Once we've reached the camp site, we created a name for our group and it was "Touchlight" and our cheer was something like this "When the day is dark, St' John kena black out, who do you call? Torchlight! Say what? Tourchlight! Touchlight no batterery? Opps1" Haha... So funny. After that we drew our flag. Lunch was fish & chips. The cooks are actually seniors who are still studying in SP. At night, we were blindfolded and brought to a "cemetery" but the next morning, we all agreed that is was no cemetery. Haha... It was just an effort by the seniors to spook us with the supernatural. Didn't bath today due to the limited amount of cubicles.
2nd Day ~ 7/6/04:
Last night was so hot! I spelt half naked. Woke up in the middle of the night to take off my shirt. But thank god, after an hour or so, rain came and it was cooling. Slept for about 5 hours. When dawn arrived, out of the 4 groups, 3 groups had their flags stolen by the senior in the middle of the night. And out group still had out flag! Pro! Haha... But, in the morning just before breakfast, it was snatched away from us... We all had to do a forfeit to get our flags back. Then the rest of the day was beach games, doing forfeits and getting dirty. We played in the sea too! Fun! We were painted, dunked with raw eggs and made to roll on the ground etc. Finally got to bath today. I had to race to the toliet to secure a cubicle for myself. And there was no curtain so it was like NS style. In the night, we had the "She-him" night where the guys would dress up as girls. 2 from each group had to do so. It was funny to see them in girl's clothing but apart from that, it was boring. Some seniors dressed up as girls too. They were in swim suits and tiger striped bikinis. Haha... At the end of all that, I starting to feel tired and exhausted.
3rd day ~ 8/3/04:
Thank god for the rain again! Haha... It was such a nice weather to sleep in but we only had about 4 hours of sleep. Tired! And our flag was not stolen. Haha... We actually tied it round the bed post. Morning was spent playing station games and noon was treasure hunting. Night was camp fire night and performance night. Each group had to do a performance. We sat around the camp fire and sang songs. After that was disco! Haha... Dancing the night away. Some people danced till 6 in the morning and slept only for an hour. Me, I slept at about 3am.
Exhausted...
4th day ~ 9/6/04:
We are going home! Yeah! I miss home... After cleaning up the bunks, we went to the jetty to wait for our ferry and we sang songs while waiting. Then it rained the view was spectacular. From the jetty, we could see marina south and all the tall buildings etc. When the rain came, everything disappeared. Haha... So cool. Once we've reached the main island we went back to school to be debriefed and to view the MM (Manufacturing & Mechanical) club house. Rather small but otherwise, cosy and cool. Then it was photo shots and one last cheer before we waved goodbye. Exhilarating & tired.
Life goes on...
